This blog was initially created to display work from a 100 level art course I was required to take once I transferred colleges. Now I have decided to restart my blog entries with everyday events within the last few months of my senior design studio as a member of the architecture program at the University of Maine at Augusta.

Art Deco
Art Deco- again, successful? Im not completely sure. medium- ink, marker, pencil. techniques- shading and hatching.
I would say this is a successful Art Deco composition. I think the base is a strong design and anchors the whole piece. When I first viewed this my reaction was that the borders for the plant leaves were too thick. Then I thought about them if they were thinner…they draw as much attention and could possibly be overshadowed by the stronger elements of the pot. So after closer examination I think that the plant leaves are well designed. Well done
Moral of the story…never judge a plant by it's leaves
